This building is the only one that wasn’t built at the park. The students at the American College of the Building Arts study colonial architecture and built this building. It was moved from Charleston SC on a low boy truck and then transferred to its new home using a crane. We added the foundation and porch. Later we added a roof over the porch to provide some much needed shade for the reenactors. 

The building is typical of a tenant’s house. A tenant could have been someone who just moved to town and needed a temporary place to live. This building serves as our welcoming center for this entrance to the park.
