The Ten Year Plan for growth and improvement at the Living History Park includes the following. The items with the checkmark have already been completed.
18th Century Tavern Improvements
Hickory shutters and doors
Black gum tables
Brick floor
Creation of a food preparation area
Reroof the tavern with appropriate materials
Extend roof to bake kitchen area
Upgrade ground around oven areas
Willow Springs Meeting House
Develop architectural plans
Lay foundation
Erect building
Administrative Building Improvements
Cover exterior walls with appropriate materials
Shutters for windows
Additional Park Improvements
Build a permanent slave cabin
Build a permanent cabin for the Indian Traders
Extend the split rail fencing on Lake Avenue and Spring Grove Avenue
Add a permanent cookpit for encampments and large family events
Add additional demonstration areas and reenactment camp sites on the Lake Avenue side of the park
Build demonstration sheds (e.g., apothecary shop, pottery, kiln, etc.)
Develop herb gardens, sensory gardens and walking trails for nature walks
Develop a covered open area for history talks and lectures
Develop an 18th century schoolhouse
Work toward having the Living History Park open one weekend per month for living history demonstrations in addition to the annual reenactment
Install a sprinkler system
