Gov. Sanford's letter introduced the 14th annual Colonial Times event. The text reads:

Greetings.

On behalf of the people of South Carolina, welcome to the Olde Towne Preservation Association's 14th Annual Colonial Times: A Day to Remember.

This promises to be an exciting weekend for history buffs of all ages. With a variety of exhibits and demonstrations, everyone will have the opportunity to learn more about our country's past. Additional attractions, including music and live entertainment, help ensure that this event will have something for the whole family to enjoy. Community celebrations like this one are an important part of what makes our state such a special place.

Fellow South Carolinians join me in welcoming those of you who are visiting with us for the first time and in sending best wishes for a memorable stay. Take care.
